The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) is poised to mark a major milestone in its institutional and digital transformation journey with the official commissioning of its national secretariat and the launch of a groundbreaking mobile application.
AGN President, Emeka Rollas, disclosed the development in a statement issued Thursday in Lagos.
According to Rollas, the national secretariat will be inaugurated on June 28 and is expected to draw stakeholders from across the Nollywood industry, including government officials, digital partners, and members of the media.
The guild will also unveil its new mobile app, which is designed to usher AGN into a new era of digital engagement and operational efficiency.
“This is not just about an app or an office; it’s about building a future-ready AGN,” Rollas said.
“We are giving our members digital access and recognition, while opening our doors to the world through innovation, accountability and collaboration.
“The AGN mobile app reflects our desire to not just reform our operations internally but also to build a stronger connection between the industry and the people who love Nollywood.
“It’s our digital handshake to the world,” he added.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the mobile app is set to revolutionise how Nigerian actors interact with the guild, manage their careers, and connect with their fan base.
The application will provide actors with a secure and efficient platform to access news, audition alerts, events, training, and career opportunities within the Nigerian film industry. It will also serve as a bridge for meaningful fan engagement, offering features such as behind-the-scenes exclusives, red carpet highlights, event coverage, and digital meet-and-greets.
With the unveiling of its national secretariat and the mobile app, the AGN is signalling its readiness to embrace innovation and enhance its relevance in the fast-evolving entertainment landscape.
