Arise TV reporter Sommie Maduagwu laid to rest in Anambra

The remains of Sommie Maduagwu, an Arise TV news anchor and former beauty queen who tragically lost her life during a robbery at her Abuja residence in September, have been laid to rest.

Her burial took place on Saturday, October 18, at her family compound in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, following a funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Agulu.

Family members, friends, colleagues, and dignitaries gathered to pay their last respects, including the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who was among those present at the solemn ceremony.

Maduagwu’s death had shocked many across the country, with colleagues and admirers remembering her for her professionalism, warmth, and vibrant on-screen presence.
