The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of injured personnel, pledging comprehensive support for their recovery.
Lt. Gen. Oluyede made the pledge on Saturday during his visit to the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital in Maiduguri.
While commending the healthcare team for their dedication, he directed that personnel with complex medical conditions be evacuated to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna for specialized care.
Addressing some of the wounded soldiers, the Army Chief encouraged them to remain resilient, assuring them that the Nigerian Army would stand by them through their recovery journey.
“We will do our best to ensure that you are recuperated so that you can all go back to your duty,” he said.
The visit underscores the Nigerian Army’s resolve to prioritize the welfare of its personnel, particularly those injured in the line of duty.
