Arsenal Sign Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in £13m Transfer Deal

Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in a deal worth an initial £13 million (€15 million).

The 21-year-old has penned a five-year contract with the Premier League side, with an option to extend for an additional year. The deal also includes performance-related add-ons that could increase the final fee.

Mosquera, who completed his medical in London, has already joined up with his new teammates in Singapore for preseason preparations.

Speaking on the move, Mosquera said: “There’s been a lot of hard work behind all of this. It’s an opportunity I couldn’t let pass me by. I’m joining a historic, massive club. When you arrive here with your family, you really feel the greatness of this place.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed excitement over the new addition, telling the club’s official website: “We’re delighted to welcome Cristhian to Arsenal. As a 21-year-old defender, he already has significant La Liga experience and has performed consistently well.

“He is intelligent, has good pace, and can play centrally or on either side. Cristhian has exciting talent and enormous potential, and we believe he’ll fit seamlessly into our squad.”
