ASUU Blames FG for Looming Strike Action

1 21

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has accused the Federal Government of frustrating its members, raising concerns about a possible strike.

ASUU’s Nsukka Zonal Coordinator, Raphael Amokaha, highlighted at a press conference in Makurdi on Wednesday, October 2, that the government has repeatedly ignored the union’s demands, especially the renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement.

Amokaha warned that if the government pushes the union into industrial action, it will bear full responsibility for any resulting crisis.

He emphasized that any appeals for resolution should be directed to the government, not ASUU.
