The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday night shone the spotlight on football’s finest, with Arsenal forward Viktor Gyökeres and Spain manager Luis Enrique among the standout winners.

Gyökeres, who starred last season with Sporting Lisbon before moving to Arsenal this summer, received the prestigious Gerd Müller Trophy for Best Striker, edging out Europe’s top forwards with his prolific scoring record.

Spain boss Luis Enrique was honoured with the Johan Cruyff Trophy for Best Coach of the Year after leading his side to Euro 2025 glory. On the women’s side, England manager Sarina Wiegman picked up the equivalent coaching prize.

Goalkeeping excellence was also celebrated: Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City) lifted the Men’s Yashin Trophy, while Chelsea and England shot-stopper Hannah Hampton claimed the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy.

Rising stars were not left out as Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Vicky López scooped the men’s and women’s Kopa Trophies for best young players.

At the club level, Paris Saint-Germain was named Men’s Club of the Year, while Arsenal Women secured the women’s crown.

The glittering Paris gala reaffirmed the global reach of football’s brilliance, with Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG, and Spain’s national teams emerging as some of the night’s biggest winners.
