Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has received international acclaim after being ranked the fourth-best goalkeeper in the world at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards in Paris.

The Nigerian star, who plays for Paris FC in France, earned a spot among the top five in the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy, an award celebrating the world’s best female goalkeepers.

England and Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton made history as the first-ever winner of the trophy, following a stellar year in which she helped the Lionesses to Euro 2025 glory and guided Chelsea to a domestic treble. Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger came second, while Spain’s Cata Coll placed third.

For Nnadozie, the recognition marks another career milestone. She rose to global prominence at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where her heroic display against co-hosts Australia earned her the Player of the Match award. Since then, she has cemented her reputation as one of Africa’s finest shot-stoppers and a key figure for both club and country.

Hampton’s award capped a season in which she recorded 13 clean sheets in the Women’s Super League, secured the Golden Glove, and played a decisive role in England’s European triumph.
