Bandits have launched another attack in Kwara State, abducting at least 11 residents including a pregnant woman, children, and nursing mothers in Isapa, a community near Eruku in the Ekiti Local Government Area.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday, November 24, barely 24 hours after kidnappers released victims earlier abducted during a church service in the nearby Ekuru community.

According to Daily Trust, about 20 to 30 armed men stormed Isapa, shooting sporadically as residents fled for safety. An elderly woman was reportedly struck by a stray bullet during the invasion.

A community leader, who spoke anonymously, confirmed the number of victims, revealing that seven of the abducted individuals were taken from the same household.
“The victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children,” he said.

Those abducted were identified as:

  • Talatu Kabiru, 20
  • Magaji, 6
  • Kande, 5
  • Hadiza, 10
  • Mariam, 6
  • Saima, 5
  • Habibat (housewife)
  • Fatima Yusufu (housewife)
  • Sarah Sunday, 22 (pregnant)
  • Lami Fidelis, 23 (nursing mother)
  • Haja Na Allah (nursing mother)

Eyewitnesses said the attackers moved through sections of the community, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors. Spent AK-47 shells were later recovered at several points after the bandits retreated with their captives.

The attack has increased tension across Isapa and neighbouring settlements. Security operatives and local vigilante groups have intensified efforts to track the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
