Banky W Relocates to the U.S. with Family for Studies and New Purpose
Veteran Nigerian artist Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has revealed that he and his family have relocated to the United States to pursue a new chapter in their lives.
In an Instagram post, Banky W announced their move, stating that the decision was driven by the desire to fulfill life’s purpose. “For family. For faith. For finding purpose. For the next year of earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management at Georgetown University in Washington DC,” he shared.
Responding to the post, his wife, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, expressed her support, saying, “Home is wherever you are.”
Banky W had previously announced in July that he enrolled in a Policy Management program at Georgetown University, marking a significant step in his pursuit of academic and career growth.
The couple, who got married in South Africa in 2017, welcomed their son, Hazaiah, in 2021. In addition to his music career, Banky W made a foray into politics, contesting as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections, though he lost to Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party.
