Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal to Stop Giving Free Autographs After Signing Merchandising Deal
Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal will reportedly stop signing free autographs for fans after entering into an agreement with a specialist merchandising website.
According to reports from Spain, the 18-year-old forward has already ceased signing shirts and other memorabilia at the club’s Ciutat Esportiva training ground. The move follows a commercial arrangement being finalized between his management team and a company that sells signed sports merchandise.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo revealed that Yamal’s advertising representatives are negotiating terms with the unnamed website, which will exclusively market his signed items, including boots, shirts, and other collectibles.
As part of the deal, Yamal has been advised to limit free autograph signings to maintain the value of his signature. Going forward, fans wishing to own autographed memorabilia from the Barcelona star will need to purchase it through the designated online platform.
