BBNaija Winner Laycon Says Fame Made Him Lose Inner Voice
Winner of the Big Brother Naija ‘LockDown’ edition, Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, popularly known as Laycon, has revealed that he lost his “inner voice” after rising to fame through the reality television show in 2020.
The rapper made the disclosure in a recent video broadcast titled Life With Laycon, where he reflected on his personal journey, self-discovery, and the importance of inner peace.
According to Laycon, fame and the sudden changes that followed his victory on the popular reality show made him lose touch with his inner voice, which he said he only rediscovered about a year later.
The music star explained that silence played a major role in helping him reconnect with himself, stressing that many people struggle to grow because they are afraid of embracing quiet moments.
He noted that although silence can feel uncomfortable, it is essential for personal growth and self-reflection.
Laycon added that moments of solitude often act as a mirror that allows individuals to evaluate their lives and make necessary changes.
He also encouraged his fans to embrace solitude and self-reflection as a way of taking personal responsibility and understanding their true selves.
Recalling his experience, the rapper said after winning Big Brother Naija in 2020, he struggled internally until December 2021, when he rediscovered his inner voice following his sold-out concert, The Icons Fest.
According to him, the moment triggered several personal questions about his happiness, lifestyle, and future, prompting him to spend more time alone reflecting on his life.
Laycon said those moments of reflection helped him confront difficult truths about himself and ultimately led to deeper personal realisations.
