A young man from Benue State who is currently embarking on a daring bicycle journey from Nigeria to the United States has shared another highlight from his adventure, as he arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on Day 52 of his expedition.

In a Facebook update tagged #NIG2USA, the cyclist revealed that he had pedaled into a community in Côte d’Ivoire surprisingly named “Korea.” “Relax oo, I didn’t mistakenly pedal my way into Asia. This is still Côte d’Ivoire, and yes, there’s a community here proudly called Korea,” he wrote.

He recounted how the residents of the community warmly received him despite the heavy rainfall earlier in the day. “The people here welcomed me with smiles, curiosity, and encouragement. Even though I was soaked by the rain earlier, their warmth dried my spirit,” he said, adding that the experience reflects the communal spirit of Africa where “strangers become family.”

According to him, the journey is not just a personal adventure but a mission dedicated to orphans, internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable groups, and children whose dreams depend on collective support.

“Every village, every community I pass through adds a new story, a new heartbeat to this mission. This is why I keep pushing, for the orphans, for the IDPs, for the vulnerable, and for the children,” he stated.

The cyclist continues to chronicle his journey across Africa, with the mantra “Together we Ride, Together we Rise”, as he advances toward his final destination in the United States.
