Blessing CEO Confirms Arrest of Fiancé IVD at Lagos Airport, Alleges Intimidation
Relationship therapist and media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has confirmed the arrest of her fiancé, well-known auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD. The incident occurred on Friday, August 1, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to reports, IVD was taken into custody by officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while attempting to board a flight to Qatar alongside Blessing. His arrest is reportedly connected to his ongoing trial in relation to the tragic death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in 2022.
The Lagos State Government had previously charged IVD with one count of involuntary manslaughter under suit number LD/21055C/23, following allegations that Bimbo died from injuries sustained during a domestic fire incident at their Lagos home.
While unconfirmed sources suggest a court-imposed travel restriction may have been in place, Blessing CEO took to Instagram to dispute that claim. In her statement, she alleged that IVD is being unfairly targeted and that there was no official directive barring him from traveling.
“He is being bullied and intimidated. If there were any travel restrictions, he wouldn’t have openly made travel arrangements or shared them publicly,” she stated.
The arrest has sparked heated online debate, with opinions sharply divided over IVD’s legal standing and Blessing CEO’s public defense. Many commenters have criticized the couple’s public display of affection and perceived insensitivity toward the late Bimbo’s family, especially amid an unresolved criminal case.
The case continues to draw significant public interest, fueled by social media commentary and ongoing legal proceedings.
