Boko Haram Commander Abu Rajab Killed in Sambisa Forest Raid

In a decisive operation on Saturday, troops from Operation Hadin Kai, supported by the Hybrid Force and Civilian Joint Task Force, reportedly neutralized three Boko Haram terrorists, including the notorious commander Abu Rajab, in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The operation specifically targeted the terrorists’ camp in the Bula Daloje area of Bama Local Government Area, successfully eliminating key insurgent leaders.

Intelligence sources informed counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama that the troops faced significant resistance, with insurgents ambushing them en route. A heavy gunbattle ensued, during which the troops successfully repelled the attack, killing several terrorists and forcing others to retreat.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and a mobile phone, marking a significant achievement in the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the Lake Chad region.

However, the success came at a cost, as one member of the Hybrid Force was struck by gunfire and later succumbed to injuries, making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
