British supermodel Georgina Cooper has tragically passed away at the age of 46, just months after marrying her husband, Nigel. Cooper fell ill while on the Greek island of Kos, where the couple had been enjoying a trip.
The mother of one initially received care at the island’s main hospital, but her condition required an emergency airlift to a more advanced facility in Crete. After five days in intensive care, Cooper passed away, and her body was flown back to England last week.
Her former agent, Dean Goodman, expressed sorrow over her passing. “She loved Greece and was excited to return there with her new husband. Georgina had battled health issues since COVID, but she was hopeful about the future. She had just married and was looking forward to her life. This loss is devastating; she was a genuine superstar,” Goodman told MailOnline.
Cooper began her modeling career at age 13 and achieved her first major break in a Bon Jovi music video at 15. Known as London’s “original gap-toothed girl” in the 1990s, she graced the covers of US Vogue and The Face, working with some of the most iconic names in fashion. She later left the runway to focus on raising her son, Sonny, and most recently worked in hospitality in Kent.
The couple had a small wedding near their home in Maidstone, Kent, with a reception at a local pub in June. They shared honeymoon photos from Kos, filled with joy and celebration.
