Former Chief of Army Staff and former Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist, Mr. Lawrence Audu.

In a condolence message to the bereaved family, Buratai described Audu’s death as a significant loss, not only to his loved ones but also to the journalism profession.

“It is with a heavy heart that I received the sad news of the sudden death of your dear son, late Mr. Lawrence Audu. His demise is surely a great loss to you and the entire family, and this will no doubt create a vacuum that would be difficult to fill in the hearts of all his loved ones,” he stated.

Until his passing, Audu was a Defence Correspondent for OurNigeria News Magazine and the Editor-in-Chief of North East Star Magazine.

Buratai assured the family of his prayers during their period of mourning and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

“On behalf of my family, I wish to convey my heartfelt condolence on this very sad occurrence. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we pray God to give you and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Once again, please accept my sincere condolences,” he added.

He prayed for the departed journalist’s soul to rest in perfect peace.
