The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger chapter, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, has urged Christians to show love to the less privileged this Easter.

He made this appeal on Sunday in Minna, encouraging the people of Niger to remain hopeful, show concern for others, and pray for the nation’s leaders.

Yohanna, also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, called on Christians to pray for God to help the State Government complete all ongoing projects.

“Easter marks the joyful end of Lent—a season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—celebrating Jesus Christ’s resurrection, which brings hope to humanity.

“As we celebrate Easter, let us pray for Niger State, our leaders, and for unity and peaceful coexistence among our people,” he said.

He urged prayers for Gov. Mohammed Bago, asking God to grant him grace to pursue and achieve the ‘New Niger Agenda’ with strength and commitment.

Yohanna noted positive efforts in healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, expressing hope that the state would rise again through collective support and prayers.

He expressed optimism that all government projects would be completed, provided the people continued to pray for the administration’s success and vision.

“Easter is when Christians celebrate Christ’s victory over sin and death. It’s the day the Lord has made; we rejoice and are glad in it,” he said.

He urged Christians to reflect the risen Christ in their lives, showing love, mercy, compassion, and selfless service to those around them.

Yohanna also commended the security agencies for their unwavering efforts in tackling any form of threat to peace and safety in the state.
