Television presenters Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced they are separating after 12 years of marriage. The couple, who have two sons, confirmed the news in a joint statement, stating they have “taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated.”

The statement emphasized that “there is no other party involved” and that they “will continue to be united as loving parents to our children.” They have also kindly asked for their family’s privacy to be respected at this time and have said there will be no further comment on the matter.

Deeley, 48, is a host of ITV’s “This Morning,” a role she took on last year. She originally rose to fame in the UK on children’s television before finding major success in the United States as the host of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Kielty, 54, a well-known comedian and presenter from Northern Ireland, took over as the host of Ireland’s “The Late Late Show” in 2023. He also hosts a show on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Sources close to the couple have suggested that the separation is amicable and has been developing for several months due to the logistical challenges of their respective high-profile careers in different countries. With Deeley based in London for her “This Morning” duties and Kielty in Dublin for “The Late Late Show,” the geographical distance is believed to have been a significant factor in their decision.

The couple, who were friends for many years before they married in a private ceremony in Rome in 2012, have been a popular and much-loved couple in the entertainment industry. Their separation marks the end of an era for a couple who had captured the hearts of many on both sides of the Atlantic.
