OurNigeria News Magazine has named renowned technology entrepreneur, Charles Awuzie, as its Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to technology-driven innovation, digital inclusion, and Africa’s emerging tech ecosystem.
The prestigious honour, according to the magazine, followed extensive consultations, recommendations from readers and correspondents across the country, as well as the approval of the Board, Management and Award Planning Committee of OurNigeria News.
The organisers said Awuzie was selected for his “exceptional entrepreneurial vision, transformative use of artificial intelligence, commitment to ethical technology practices, and unwavering dedication to leveraging innovation as a tool for poverty eradication in Africa.”
Charles Awuzie is a distinguished full-stack web developer, blockchain investigator, cybersecurity expert, AI-for-business strategist and technology entrepreneur. He uniquely blends his academic background in Biochemistry and an Executive MBA in Strategic Business Leadership with multiple global technology certifications to drive innovation and scalable solutions.
As founder and leader of the Gemsbok Group and Transhuman Coin, Awuzie has pioneered artificial intelligence solutions designed to bridge the digital divide, democratise access to cutting-edge technology and empower underserved communities. His work has positioned him as a leading voice in Africa’s digital transformation journey.
The 2025 edition of the OurNigeria News award, themed “Providing a Podium for Unsung Heroes,” is part of the organisation’s annual initiative aimed at celebrating Nigerians and Africans whose work continues to positively shape society and humanity. The event is expected to attract top business leaders, policymakers, technology innovators and other prominent personalities.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Awuzie is widely respected as an international speaker and mentor, inspiring a new generation of African tech innovators through his passion for artificial intelligence, ethical technology adoption and sustainable development.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on January 31, 2026, in Abuja, where Charles Awuzie is expected to be formally honoured alongside other distinguished awardees.
