Chinese National Arrested for Assisting Boko Haram with Drone Operations
Authorities have arrested a Chinese national alleged to have collaborated with Boko Haram in operating drones used to target military forces.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended during a counterinsurgency operation in northeastern Nigeria, where he was reportedly providing technical support to the terrorist group.
The arrest has raised fresh concerns about foreign involvement in the group’s increasingly sophisticated tactics, particularly the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to surveil and attack military positions.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of his involvement and whether there is a broader network of foreign collaborators aiding the insurgents.
