Grammy-winning R&B artist Chris Brown has been granted bail following charges related to an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub two years ago.
The 36-year-old American singer, known for hits like Go Crazy, is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Abraham Diaw during an incident that occurred in February 2023.
Brown, who was arrested and charged last week, did not appear in person for the bail hearing held on Wednesday at Southwark Crown Court in London.
Judge Tony Baumgartner, presiding over the case, announced that Brown would be allowed to continue with his ongoing international tour — including planned performances in the UK this June and July — as part of the bail terms.
As a condition of his release, Brown is required to pay a £5 million (approximately $6.7 million) security fee to the court. This financial guarantee is intended to ensure his return for future court proceedings and may be forfeited if he fails to comply with the bail conditions.
