Cleaner Who Returned N4.8m Mistakenly Paid Into Her Account Receives N2.5m Reward from Anonymous Donor
Faiza Abdulkadir, a cleaner at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital who returned N4.8 million mistakenly paid into her bank account, has been rewarded with a N2.5 million donation from an anonymous benefactor.
The donation was presented on Monday, September 1, by Aisha Muhammad Aisami, President of the Da’awah Wal Irshaad Women Organisation, during a small ceremony in Maiduguri. According to Aisami, the donor reached out after reading Faiza’s story online and expressed a desire to commend her honesty with a financial gift.
Faiza, who earns N30,000 monthly and supports her five children and elderly mother, expressed deep gratitude for the donation.
“If you fear God, anything that doesn’t belong to you would not attract you,” she said. “We should always prepare for the life hereafter, not be deceived by temporary worldly gains.”
This latest donation comes just days after Faiza received a N1 million gift, food items, and vocational equipment from the Borno State Government, presented by the First Lady, Dr. Falmata Babagana Zulum.
Commissioner for Women Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, praised Faiza’s integrity, describing her actions as “remarkable” given her economic challenges.
The story of Faiza Abdulkadir has since gone viral, inspiring many across the country and beyond.
