Clem Ohameze Breaks Down Over Viral Stroke Rumour, Files Police Report Against Facebook User
Veteran Nollywood actor Clem Ohameze has publicly responded to viral rumours claiming he suffered a stroke and was abandoned by his family. In an emotional video, Ohameze debunked the reports and expressed outrage over the misinformation, which he says has caused deep distress to him and his loved ones.
The actor criticized a Facebook user who allegedly started the rumour without verifying the information. He revealed that he has filed a formal complaint with the police and has also involved the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the case as a cybercrime.
“I have initiated a police case. I’ve sent his number and name to them. This is cybercrime,” Clem said. “It has cost me a lot to come this far in life. I will not let an idiot rubbish me just like that for cheap popularity.”
The actor, known for his iconic roles in money ritual-themed Nollywood films, further condemned the false reports, including previous death hoaxes. He questioned why the individual didn’t attempt to reach out to him for confirmation before spreading unverified information.
“Why don’t you reach out to me and confirm? Now you’ve succeeded in smearing my name all over the world,” he said tearfully. “I had to call my children. Thankfully, only my daughter saw the post.”
A clip from the video also showed Ohameze in tears as he asked why he continues to be targeted by such damaging rumours.
