The Cherubim and Seraphim University in Kwara State is projected to begin academic activities by 2026, according to Rev. Esther Ajayi, Chairperson of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee.
Ajayi, who is also the Founder of the Love of Christ Church, Lagos, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the C&S centenary lecture held in Lagos.
She revealed that construction of the institution was already 80 percent complete, describing it as a milestone achievement of the church that underscores its commitment to human development over the last century.
According to her, the university will play a vital role in character formation, particularly in addressing the decline in moral values among the younger generation.
“The church is setting up institutions and structures to advance its bridge building in the world,” Ajayi said.
She emphasized that the institution would serve as a buffer against immoral behaviours, equipping students with the values needed to advance society.
“A renewed C&S inspires generation and the global community to rediscover its root and engender true human service.
“We are looking at taking the gospel to Europe and the West. It is in schools that we groom persons who can take the gospel back to rescue humanity.
“We need to train bold minds that will preach and evangelise all over the world to correct growing anomalies that pose threats to humanity,” she added.
The centenary lecture, held on Monday, provided members of the church with an opportunity to reflect on its mandate and make projections for the future.
