Dangote Donates N2 Billion, Urges Corporate Support for Borno Flood Victims
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, has announced a donation of N2 billion to support those affected by the devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno State.
During a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum, Dangote revealed that the Presidential Committee on Flood and Disaster, which he chairs, has already pledged N1 billion, while the Dangote Foundation will contribute an additional N1 billion.
“We will release the N2 billion by next week to aid in relief efforts,” Dangote stated. He also called on other corporate entities to join in supporting the Borno State Government, noting that the scale of destruction requires a collective effort.
“It’s heartbreaking to see the extent of damage. Many homes have been submerged, and it will take weeks, if not longer, to restore normalcy. I urge corporate Nigerians to step up and help, as the government alone cannot manage this crisis,” Dangote said.
Governor Zulum expressed deep gratitude for Dangote’s assistance and ongoing support for the people of Borno.
