Darling Downs Zoo is set to reopen to the public at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, following a recent promotional campaign highlighting its lion enclosure and personalized animal encounters.

In a Facebook post last month, the zoo showcased its lions, noting that Managing Director Steven Robinson and his wife, Stephanie, have been breeding lions since 1997. The couple moved their collection to the Darling Downs Zoo in 2002, where the lions have since become a key attraction.

“Every day at 10 a.m., they are on supervised display to our visitors and are also available for some personalized encounters,” the zoo’s June statement read. “These encounters are strictly monitored to ensure their enjoyment of them and their wellbeing.”

The zoo’s announcement comes amid growing interest in its wildlife offerings, with management emphasizing animal welfare and guest safety in all interactions.
