Delta Police Arrest 5 Kidnap Suspects, Recover Cash and Weapons
The Delta State Police Command has arrested five suspects linked to kidnapping operations in Ughelli South Local Government Area. The arrests were made by a police crack squad in Ewu town on Thursday, following a tip-off.
According to SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects confessed to abducting a 70-year-old woman on September 8 and collecting N7.9 million in ransom before releasing her.
The police also recovered several items, including a single-barrel gun, three locally made cut-to-size guns, N450,000 in cash, two Point of Sales (PoS) machines, and cannabis wraps. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
