Diddy Reportedly Survives Knife Attack by Inmate Inside Brooklyn Prison
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly survived a frightening knife attack while serving his prison sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York.
According to his close friend, Charlucci Finney, Diddy woke up one night to find a knife pressed against his throat a moment he described as “terrifying” and potentially fatal. Finney told Daily Mail that it remains unclear whether guards intervened in time or if Diddy managed to defend himself, but confirmed that “it was a very close call.”
Sources familiar with the incident also told TMZ that the attack appeared to be a targeted intimidation attempt. Finney suggested the motive may have been to instill fear, noting that “prison is especially dangerous for inmates with sex-related convictions.”
During Diddy’s sentencing, his attorney, Brian Steel, referenced the same incident, stating that a correctional officer intervened before serious harm occurred.
The rapper and businessman is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits the transportation of individuals across state lines for unlawful purposes. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump is allegedly considering granting Diddy a pardon, though the White House Communications Office has denied any such plans.
Prison consultant Sam Mangel, speaking on TMZ Live, said Diddy is expected to be transferred to a lower-security facility that is less violent than MDC Brooklyn. However, he cautioned that the recent incident underscores the constant danger faced by high-profile inmates.
For now, Diddy’s friends and family remain deeply concerned about his safety, with Finney describing the attack as a “terrifying reminder of how quickly things can turn inside prison walls.”
