Diddy’s Legal Team Seeks Trump Pardon Ahead of Sentencing

One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers, Nicole Westmoreland, has revealed that efforts are underway to secure a presidential pardon for the music mogul ahead of his October 3 sentencing.

“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” Westmoreland told CNN.

The 55-year-old entertainment icon was last month found guilty by a New York jury on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Despite the outreach, hopes for clemency appear dim. While speaking with Newsmax on Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged having a friendly relationship with Diddy but gave no assurance of a pardon.

When asked if being friendly with the rapper meant he would grant him a pardon, Trump replied: “I would say so, yeah.”

As Diddy awaits his sentencing, his legal team continues to explore all possible avenues to reduce or avoid the looming prison term.
