The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of a dismembered female body inside a sack in the Ogijo community.
According to a police statement, the gruesome find was reported on February 16 by the Chairman of Sedu 2 Community and two other . The body, describe as that of a light-skinned woman aged around 30, was found dumped in a fenced farmland.
Responding to the report, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) arrived at the scene and discovered the corpse, which was missing its head and both hands.
Preliminary investigations suggest the body was dumped at the location. The police cordoned off the area, and the remains have been transferred to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu for forensic examination.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered an urgent and thorough probe to track down those responsible for the crime. He also urged parents and guardians to discuss security awareness with their children while emphasizing community cooperation in combating crime.
