Italy’s Dominik Paris secured his first downhill victory of the season on Friday, winning the Kvitfjell race with a time of 1 minute 44.67 seconds.
The 35-year-old skier, who turns 36 in April, claimed the 23rd World Cup win of his career, reinforcing his status as Italy’s fastest downhiller. His last triumph was in December 2023 in Val Gardena.
Paris, now a four-time winner on Kvitfjell’s Olympiabakken slope, finished ahead of Swiss skiers Marco Odermatt and Stefan Rogentin. Odermatt, 0.32 seconds behind Paris, extended his lead in the World Cup downhill standings.
The downhillers will compete again on Saturday in Kvitfjell before concluding their season in Sun Valley, Idaho, on March 22.
