Ebuka Obi-Uchendu Mourns the Passing of BBNaija Star Francisca Owumi
Renowned television host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Francisca Owumi, a former Big Brother Nigeria contestant. Owumi, the runner-up in the first season of the reality show in 2006, passed away on August 29, 2024, after a brief illness.
Ebuka, who was a fellow contestant in the inaugural season, took to the social media platform X to share his condolences. In his heartfelt tribute, he described Owumi as a trailblazer in Nigerian reality TV, acknowledging her impact on the industry.
“Truly sad to hear about the passing of Francisca Owumi, 1st runner-up in the very first season of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006. A true reality TV pioneer,” he wrote. “My prayers are with her family as they go through what must be a difficult time. And may her soul rest in peace.”
