Edo Government Declares Friday Work-Free Ahead of Governorship Election
The Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day to enable workers and residents to travel to their respective voting locations ahead of the governorship election set for Saturday, September 21.
In an official statement, Secretary to the Edo State Government, Joseph Eboigbe, confirmed the decision, emphasizing that the move would ensure citizens have adequate time to prepare for the election.
The government also assured the public that comprehensive security measures have been implemented to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election.
“The Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day to allow workers and voters to travel to their voting areas for the governorship election,” Eboigbe stated.
He urged the public to travel safely and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a secure environment for the electoral process.
