The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 19 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud at various locations in Benin City, Edo State.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, stating that the operation was based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent online activities.
Recovered items include seven luxury cars, laptop computers, and mobile phones.
Oyewale further disclosed that the suspects have provided useful statements to investigators and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
