Ex-Benue commissioner denies ADC links, pledges support for Alia

The immediate past Benue commissioner for Power, Renewable Energy and Transport, Mr Omale Omale, has denied any links with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Omale said in a statement on Monday in Makurdi that as a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he is yet to see any reason to abandon the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there were some media reports that he was romancing with the ADC.

He, however, said that he has sacrificed so much for the APC in the past and cannot abandon the party now that the time is approaching for him to reap the fruits of his labour.

The former APC state legal adviser said Gov. Alia was his political leader and leader of the APC in Benue; therefore, he has no single reason to stop supporting him.

“I overcame obstacles and defeated the enemy within and outside to ensure that we enthroned Gov. Hyacinth Alia in 2023.

“I was privileged to be appointed as a commissioner in the state. I have a very bright future in the party and a strong belief that my time is about to come.

“I cannot, in good conscience, do all these and turn back to romance with a political party that is yet to find its footing.

“This fake romance is outrightly untrue and deliberately designed to destroy my good relationship with our dear governor. What are these rumour-mongers afraid of? I am a core democrat and believe that we should play politics according to the rules.

“I am an Alia supporter and will continue to support him. He is the leader of my political party and the state, and I have no single reason to stop supporting him,” he said.
