Popular Nigerian rapper, actor, and songwriter, Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has emerged as the highest-grossing Nollywood lead actor of 2024.
FilmOne Entertainment, a leading film distribution company, made the announcement on Wednesday via its official Instagram page, @filmoneng.
Falz secured the top spot with his performance in Funke Akindele’s blockbuster, “Everybody Loves Jenifa”.
Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, claimed the second position with a strong showing in multiple films, including “Beast of Two Worlds”, “Lakatabu”, “Alakada Bad and Boujee”, and “American Japa”.
Kunle Remi followed as the third highest-grossing lead actor, thanks to his roles in “Muri & KO” and “Queen Lateefah”.
Coming in fourth, Timini Egbuson made waves with performances in “All’s Fair in Love”, “Ajosepo”, and “Meeting Funmi’s Parents”.
Uzor Arukwe secured the fifth spot for his roles in “What About Us”, “Thinline”, “Criminal” and “Family Gbese”.
Ayo Makun (AY) landed in sixth place, credited for his performances in “The Waiter”, “All’s Fair in Love”, and “3 Working Days”.
In the eighth position, Tobi Bakare earned recognition for his lead role in “Farmer’s Bride”.
Tomiwa Tegbe followed in ninth place with appearances in “Wives on Strike 3” and “The Uprising”.
Rounding out the top ten, Akah Nnani secured his place with “A Ghetto’s Love Story”.
The rankings reflect Nollywood’s thriving box office scene, with actors making significant strides in driving audience engagement and revenue in 2024.
