FG Delegation Arrives Saudi Arabia for Aminu Dantata’s Burial in Madinah
A high-level Federal Government delegation has arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the funeral rites of late Nigerian business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94.
According to a statement issued Monday by Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, the delegation touched down in the holy city of Madinah in the early hours of Monday.
Leading the delegation is the Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. Other members include the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Also part of the delegation are respected Islamic scholars such as Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, who is the imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja.
The delegation is working in collaboration with officials from the Nigerian Consulate-General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, who have been coordinating logistics for the funeral scheduled to take place later on Monday in Madinah.
