The Federal Government has announced the closure of all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex and Eagle Square from Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026, ahead of the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress.

In a circular issued on Thursday by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) located within Phases I, II, and III of the Federal Secretariat Complex, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were directed to take note of the development.

The directive, signed by Dr. Abdul S. U. Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, stated that the road closures are necessitated by the use of Eagle Square as the venue for the ruling party’s convention.

“As a result, all personnel whose offices are located within the affected areas are to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026,” the circular read.

Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Agencies have also been instructed to ensure that the information is widely communicated to their staff and that strict compliance is maintained.

The Federal Secretariat Complex, located along Shehu Shagari Way in Abuja’s Three Arms Zone, houses key government offices and typically witnesses heavy vehicular movement, which is expected to be disrupted during the two-day period.
