FG Panel: Bobrisky Did Not Stay Outside Prison, But Received Privileges During Sentence

0 1

An investigative panel set up by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has dismissed claims that Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, served his six-month jail term in a private apartment instead of a custodial center.

Uju Agomoh, Executive Director of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) and a panel member, stated that there was no evidence to support allegations that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence from April 12 to August 5, 2024.

“The panel found no evidence to suggest Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center during his imprisonment,” Agomoh was quoted by Vanguard as saying.

However, she acknowledged that Bobrisky received certain privileges while incarcerated, though these were within the standard practices for inmates with remission.

The panel was formed after the release of an audio by VDM in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have served his sentence in a flat near the prison.
