The Federal Government has temporarily suspended the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service due to technical issues affecting the online application portal.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announced the decision on Thursday, citing efforts to upgrade the portal’s performance and handle increased user traffic more efficiently.

In a statement, the board said the recruitment platform—https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng—will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025. The board assured applicants that the temporary closure is a proactive measure to ensure a smoother, more transparent recruitment process.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the CDCFIB stated.

The application portal was officially opened on July 14, after an earlier delay from the initial start date of June 26. The application deadline remains August 4, though it is unclear if the current suspension will lead to an extension.

The board urged the public to remain patient and to rely only on official communications for updates, warning against misinformation from unofficial sources.
