A fire has gutted the residence of Alhaji Bilyaminu Moriki, Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, in Gusau, causing extensive damage to property valued at millions of Naira.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Bello Madaro, the Chief Press Secretary to the House. He quoted the Clerk of the Assembly, Mahmud Aliyu, describing the incident as tragic, although no casualties were reported.
“The Zamfara Assembly management was shocked by the fire incident on Sunday that destroyed the speaker’s residence,” Aliyu stated. On behalf of the lawmakers and staff, Aliyu expressed heartfelt sympathy to the speaker and his family.
