This development allows e-commerce businesses in Nigeria to expand their customer base by welcoming payments from American Express users, with plans to extend the service to Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Uganda in the near future.

With this partnership, Flutterwave merchants can attract business from American Express Card Members worldwide, offering greater convenience for consumer, business, and corporate cardholders.

The move enhances payment options for shoppers and boosts business opportunities for African merchants.

Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, highlighted the company’s commitment to connecting Africa with global markets through seamless payment solutions.

“This collaboration helps businesses expand their customer bases and provides American Express cardholders with more shopping options, improving the overall e-commerce experience.”
