“The proceedings saw 20 offenders arraigned and subsequently convicted, with no discharges recorded. A total of 40 offences were documented, 39 of which attracted various fines,” Afolabi said.

The enforcement exercise targeted a range of safety violations, including overloading, speed limit breaches, seatbelt infractions, missing driver licences, tyre defects, vehicle licence and number plate irregularities, and general vehicle maintenance failures.

During the session, the Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, highlighted that mobile courts are a key component of the command’s strategy to enhance operational visibility and ensure strict compliance with traffic laws, ultimately reducing road traffic crashes across Ogun State.

Fasakin commended the orderly conduct of the proceedings, noting the presence of adequate armed personnel for security. He urged motorists to prioritise safe driving, maintain proper vehicle documentation, and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable injuries and fatalities.
