Ghana Orders Registration of Nationals in Qatar Ahead of Possible Evacuation
The Ghana Embassy in Doha has directed all Ghanaian nationals living in the State of Qatar to register with the mission as part of emergency preparedness measures, amid rising unrest in the Middle East.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 2, 2026, the embassy said the registration exercise is aimed at enabling effective communication with citizens and ensuring swift coordination of emergency response actions, including a possible evacuation if the security situation deteriorates.
The directive applies to all Ghanaians in Qatar — including students, workers, families, and visitors — who are required to complete an online registration form with the mission.
According to the statement, the move became necessary due to heightened tensions in the region, which may require rapid information sharing and evacuation planning.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha hereby urges all Ghanaian nationals residing in the State of Qatar who have not registered to immediately do so, as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures,” the statement said.
The embassy assured citizens that the exercise is strictly for safety coordination and to ensure timely assistance in the event of any emergency developments.
