The President-Elect of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The visit was announced by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. According to the statement, “The President-Elect of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at his residence, Presidential Villa, State House yesterday.”

This meeting follows Tinubu’s congratulatory message to Mahama after his victory in Ghana’s December 7 general election. During a recent phone conversation, Tinubu expressed optimism that Mahama’s leadership would foster greater stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The visit underscores the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Ghana, as both leaders discuss regional cooperation and shared goals for West Africa’s progress.
