Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) has announced a temporary reduction in load allocation to its franchise.

Saratu Aliyu Dauda, the Corporate Communications Officer of JEDC gave the announcement on Wednesday in a press statement issued to journalists in Gombe.

Dauda stated that by the reduction in load allocation to 102MW daily, load shedding had increased since Tuesday due to limited power supply allocation from the national grid.

According to her, the constraint is caused by the Ugwuaji-Makurdi 330KV transmission line, which supply power to Jos Disco franchise area.

“Our daily allocation has been reduced to 102MW, impacting supply availability to customers across our franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe.

“To manage this situation, we have implemented load shedding across our network, ensuring an equitable distribution of available power,” she said.

She, however, assured that JEDC was working closely with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

According to her, JEDC anticipates full power supply restoration once the repair works on the faulty 330kV Ugwuaji-Makurdi transmission line 2 are completed to continue to provide customers with reliable and efficient service delivery.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging period.”
