Google has raised alarm over a wave of extortion emails sent to executives, with hackers claiming to have stolen sensitive data from Oracle business applications.

The tech giant said the emails are being circulated by a group claiming affiliation with the Cl0p ransomware gang, targeting executives across multiple organizations with threats linked to Oracle’s E-Business Suite.

However, Google cautioned that it has “no sufficient evidence to definitively assess the veracity of the claims” and declined to provide further details, though it described the campaign as “high-volume.”

Both Oracle and Cl0p have yet to respond to requests for comment.

The incident highlights ongoing cybersecurity risks facing large corporations, as criminal groups increasingly leverage extortion tactics to pressure executives and companies into compliance.
