Gospel Singer Omije Ojumi Set for Burial on January 21
The family and friends of late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, have announced her final burial arrangements following her passing on January 12 after a prolonged illness.
Before her death, Akinnaanu had publicly sought prayers and healing while battling the illness.
Fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody shared the burial schedule on Instagram, posting a flier outlining the programme of events.
The ceremonies will begin on Tuesday, January 20, with a service of songs at the LTV 8 Ground in Ikeja, Lagos, followed by a candlelight procession and tribute night.
The interment is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, and will be a private affair for family members and close associates.
Akinnaanu, who rose to fame with her hit song Omije Ojumi, had previously left a career in banking to pursue gospel music full-time, leaving a lasting impact on the Nigerian gospel music scene.
