Out of 38 directors vying for the role of permanent secretary in the Federal Civil Service, 19 have failed the first qualifying examination, according to a memo signed by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee.
The results, released by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Tuesday, confirm that the examination took place on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The recruitment process, initiated in October by the OHCSF, aims to fill permanent secretary vacancies in eight states.
Providing updates, OHCSF’s Director of Press, Eno Olotu, stated, “Of the 38 eligible directors who sat for the exam, 19 have passed the first stage and will move on to the second stage, which will assess their competency in using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.”
Olotu underscored that the selection is a thorough, three-phase process intended to ensure only the most qualified candidates are chosen.
Those who pass the ICT competency assessment will face the final evaluation on Friday, November 15, 2024, where a panel comprising senior bureaucrats and private sector representatives will conduct interviews.
