Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its spokesperson, Mohammed Afif, following an Israeli attack in Beirut.

Described as a “pillar” of the pro-Iranian group’s media and political operations, Afif was among the few publicly recognized figures in Hezbollah’s leadership. He played a significant role in the group’s communication efforts and frequently led press briefings.

Afif was a close ally of Hezbollah’s former Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in September. His death marks another significant loss for the group.

The attack occurred in the densely populated Ras Al Naba district near central Beirut. Afif was reportedly in a Baath Party office at the time, a political organization active in several Arab nations, including Syria.

Lebanese authorities reported that at least three other individuals were killed, and 14 others were injured in the strike.
